Pink Tiger Lily

I couldn't wait to make this card last night, let alone share it with all of you!

Have you ever had one of those creative ideas at the least opportune time? This was one of those ideas. The other night my bf and I were having one of those nice cuddling watching tv nights when all of a sudden I realized I should do the lily image from Fifth Avenue Floral like my favorite flower! (why didn't I think of this sooner!!!). Immediately I jumped up, went to make sure I had Pink Passion and Yo Yo Yellow markers. I got a weird look and a "What are you doing???" from my bf, so went back to watching tv... all the while plotting my next great card.... mwhahahahaha!!!

Once I saw the Pals Paper Arts sketch for this week, I knew it would be perfect. Since this card was a little more work and time intensive, I will explain how I made it

  • First I stamped the lily image from Fifth Avenue Floral in VersaMark and then colored the yellow pollen tentacale part of the flower with my Yo Yo Yellow marker. I then covered the image with Glassy Glaze Enamel and heated with my heat gun. I repeated this 4 times
  • I then colored the inside of the pollen puffs with my Yo Yo Yellow marker
  • Since I do not have a Pink Passion ink pad, I took the sheet from my Stamp-a-ma-jig and colored some pink passion onto it. This created a pool of ink for me to dip my blender pens into
  • I then colored in each petal on the 4 images, keeping the base and middle the darkest. The outside edges were kept the lightest pink possible, almost white
  • After each petal was shaded to my liking, I took the pointy tip of the marker and dotted each petal according to how a real pink tiger lily looks
  • After each flower was to my liking, I cut each flower out with Paper Snips
  • The Yo Yo Yellow base was cut to 5 1/4 x 4. With my Pink Passion marker I colored in the Thank You section from Elegant Thank you. This was stamped on the bottom right corner
  • The Pink Passion portion was cut to 3 1/2 x 4 1/2. The bottome section was then scalloped with the Scallop Punch. Then each scallop was hole punched using the crop a dile.
  • The Pink Passion section was the adhered to a piece of Whisper White that was 3 3/4 x 4 3/8. This section was then adhered to the Yo Yo Yellow.
  • I took two of the flowers and adhered them using Snail adhesive. The other two were popped up using dimensionals.
  • The entire card front was then adhered to a 11 x 4 1/4 piece of whisper white, folded in half to finalize the card

Whew! That was a lot of work, but well worth it! I think this card is stunning. Could just be that they remind me of my favorite flower. Have a great weekend everyone! And don't forget to take advantage of the great deals I'm offering for the month of August. These deals are only offered through me. Contact me at jessgos1313@msn.com if you have any questions.
